Amanda Denise Moreno is a scenic painter, prop painter, and sculptor based in Valencia, California. Born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley in the city of Fresno, California, Amanda was inspired to pursue art as a career from a young age after watching her grandfather paint and her mother decorate various cakes and desserts. She paints colorful, vivid, and saturated pieces with strong attention to detail.
She is currently scenic and prop painter at Valencia-based studio, Dangling Carrot Creative.
She was previously lead scenic and prop painter at Monster City Studios Inc., a Central Valley-based art studio specialized in designing, creating, and fabricating immersive props and environments for theme parks, trade shows, fairs, toy shows, convention booths and events, and more. In her ten years of experience with the studio, she consistently showcases precise painting and coating abilities, color matching and mixing, adding texture and faux finishes to projects, provides prep work for sculpture painting such sanding, cutting, and priming, and sculpts and carves foam for structure. She demonstrates a strong work ethic and efficient time management to adhere to strict deadlines. She has experience painting sculptures and props of various shapes, sizes, and art styles, depending on client needs.
Previous clients include DC Comics, DreamWorks, Universal Studios Hollywood, Duluth Trading Company, Nike, Sanrio, SeaWorld San Diego, and artist-musician, Desiigner. Amanda has also helped develop and paint creations for Magic Wheelchair, a nonprofit organization that builds custom wheelchair-based costumes for disabled children, as well as various other individual clients and personal projects.
Primary tools used for work include airbrushes, various paintbrushes, paint rollers, paint mixers, HVLP spray equipment, sanders, ladders, scissor lifts, and scaffolds.
Materials worked with include wood, steel, metal, foam, fiberglass, polyurethane and polyurea coating, fillers, and various paints such as enamel paints, watercolor, acrylic, and oil-based paints.
